For our valued medical colleagues

Notes on specific patients

  • Patients in poor general condition or elderly patients (approximately > 60J.) often have problems in the MRI with breathing commands due to long breathholds. This is uncomfortable for these patients and affects the quality of the MRT images due to camera shake.
  • Often, elderly patients also have a bladder weakness. If for a study of the abdomen oral KM has to be applied so that is up to 2 liters of fluid. These studies may persist for up to 35 minutes and then have to be interrupted to go to the bathroom or they are disturbed by motion artifacts due to the urge to urinate.
These patients are therefore preferably be examined by CT!
